Hi Michael.
You have said several times that the Gold Lion reissue KT66 equals the GEC gray glass KT66. I have been running them in my amp quite a bit over the last year and agree they are an excellent sounding tube. But......in my humble opinion they are not the equal of the greyglass. They have a more "modern sound" to them-- brighter and less rich in the midrange. Less of the "midrange magic" that the greyglass (and to a lesser extent the clear glass GEC) provide.
Check Ebay to see the ridiculous prices vintage KT66 are going for. Even hamfest tube dealers are charging $100 and up per tube these days. Very thankful that the reissues are a good sounding tube. But the greyglass are still the best ( except for those 350s maybe- never been able to find a quad to try).
