Hi,Can anyone recommend current production Type 50 tube amps? I am trying to find any companies that still make amps for this tube.
Thank you!
Joe

DIY is really the best route, or custom if you are not a DIY-er. The 50 is a pretty uncommon tube so there are not many things built for it. That said, modifying a 300B amp to take 50s is not too hard if you are handy. Mostly a different filament supply and bias adjustment. Output transformers should usually work ok (if they are spec'ed right to start with), and also depends on the input grid resistor/choke.

Thank you all for the recommendations so far. I wasn't sure what some of these amps would cost when I first posted my question. One example ranges from $3K-6K from one manufacturer for either a stereo or mono version. Everyone else from $15K-30K. There's no way I can or want to reach that high, price-wise.
How much would I really be giving up on the lower end? Am I chasing a dream and should I just look at something else? Quality SET is something I am not familiar with at this point but would love to have a sweet little SET system.
Thanks again.

I've never owned a Wavelength Amp but have heard them at shows. Sound is great. Appear to be well made.
I have owned two Wavelength DACs. Among the best for the price.
it's not a factory made amp ...... It's DIY !!

Thank you Willie.

Wavelength Audio has a 50 tube option for its Corona mono blocks.
Thank you so much!
