They look a lot like the Russian 6H8C, a nothing-special version of the western 6SN7. Available NOS on epay from many Eastern European and Russian sellers. The ones in the pic seem to lack the springy metal mica positioning things that the so called military 68HC is supposed to have. How are they marked?
Regardless of all this, if they sound good, what more could you ask for?

I have used these and turned on several friends to them. They are great tubes

Do a Google search and you pretty much come up empty. I would say that they are better than the Sylvania 6NS7Ws. I had the Sylvania tubes installed but felt I was missing a lot of what I was getting with the 68HCs.

No you come up with the tube store selling 6h8c tubes and the tube I reference below ( the russion 6h8c)
Alan
The really expensive NOS Russian 6SN7 equivalent is a Melz Metal base. OK but the key are the plates, they are the hole plate variant. You'll have to get a good pair to decide for yourself if it is what you prefer sound wise
Here is the Melz at the tube store $89.95

The hole plate tubes look like they are made with an Erector Set if you are old enough to remember them. The holes are circular however. I will look for aa link.
I have a few pairs. The treble has a lot of energy and is sometimes bright. The NOS tubes that are still available from Russia and the Ukraine are highly microphonic.
The real McCoy is rarer than the Tung Sol round plates and has 1578 stamp on the glass, heavy duty metal bases, T-shape plates with the holes in the sides, and spring steel plate supports like Tung Sol oval plate construction!
