Dutch giant Philips owned the rights to any number of brands. Pope is but 1 of them. People talk about Dutch Amperex, but there really is no such thing. True Amperex was made at Hicksville, NY.
Boxes and labels may have little meaning. What matters is the plant the tubes were produced in and the date of manufacture. Obviously, there is nothing wrong with tubes made at Blackburn. Somebody more knowledgeable than me will decode the date info.

AFAIK, Blackburn made some of the finest tubes. Esp their rectifiers. The Blackburn made GZ34 tubes are legendary.
As long as those EL37 rectifiers are strong, do not have loose internals, and quiet... you have a very nice tube. Use it in appropriate circuit and it'll last just about forever.

FL, the EL37 is a power O/P type. I think you are confusing it with the GZ37, which IS a full wave rectifier.

You're correct. But, I'm sure the Blackburn made EL37 is a nice tube.
