Other sources suggest that GZ30 is the closest analog.
Follow Ups:
IIRC, a GZ30 is mighty close to the U.S. 5Z4. Mullard made GZ30s will carry hefty price tags.
Be very careful with Chinese types. For instance, the 5Z3P is a 5U4 "equivalent", with an Octal base. A U.S. made 5Z3 is electrically equivalent to the 5U4G, BUT the base is (sic) UX4.

Hi Eli,
Is there a difference between the Shuguang 5Z4P and 5Z4PA? Got Sovteks 5AR4 to replace the Shuguangs 5Z4PA (I am using 2 5Z4PA in each monoblock)but am going back to the Shuguangs as I don't really care for the Sovteks.
Of the 4 5Z4PA that I have...one has gone bad. Am wondering now if i can replace the 5Z4PA that has gone bad with a 5Z4P.
Thank you in advance for any advice you can give.
