What other 5751 tubes can I consider besides the Sylvania Gold Brand?
Follow Ups:
I love the focus of the 5751 compared to the fuzzy sounding 12AX7,
The early 1950's Sylvania 3 mica black plates are super - usually JHS version, or as you reference the gold lettered Sylvanias, The Raytheon windmill getters are a close 2nd...great air and extension. The GE 3 mica blackplates are nice too, albeit different sound characteristics, dynamics, speed and clarity. Tung Sols (2 mica gray) are very good as are the 3 mica RCA blackplates. A sleeper are the Syl 3 mica gray plates, very warm, but beautiful in the right system.
Often found labelled as JAN-5751 or JAN-CRP 5751. Circa 1963 to 1968 production. References photos attached.
Even the non-windmill getter Raytheon 5751 are great tubes. These and the Raytheon 12AX7A are simply awesome tubes. Esp in critical positions, like input.
You what is a not bad tube, esp for the price? The 1970-80's mil spec Sylvania 5751. Ok, not the tone of the 1950's triple mica Sylvania, RCA, or GE. But, nice and quiet tubes. Good life and relatively cheap (still).
Raytheons if you can find them. Any of the RCAs are also a good choice.

Lots of good ones to try---ANY Sylvania 5751 is worth trying be it grey plate or black. Most prefer the earlier 3 mica types. 3 mica GE black or grey plates are worth trying. The Raytheon black plate windmill getter is a great tube. The Tung Sol 5751 is also very good. RCA black plates, both 2 mica and 3 mica have their fans. Try some different ones to see what sounds good in your gear. Enjoy!

GE - double mica 5-star or triple mica grey plate or triple mica black plate?
5 star I have used with good results. I also use 12at7,less gain but real nice.
