capitalizing on the Genalex name. Their description is rather...incomplete.
"The reissue Genalex Gold Lion ECC83/B759 recreates the sound signature of the original. This tube features balanced sections and gold plated pins."
Why would you say that Jon? There have been rave reviews posted on the KT series Genalex. People here LOVE the 6P3S-E. Why does the fact that it comes from Russia mean it's no good as you seem to imply? What do you expect them to say about the tube? And BTW, while my experience is VERY limited I can tell you the tubes I've tested in my first small batch do indeed have tightly matched sections and balance. The pin plating is good quality too.
Just for the record - I would still LOVE the Genalex tubes tone even if they change the name from Genalex to "Borscht Brand" .
Edited to fix typo...

Agreed Jim!
For what its worth,New Sensor Genelex corrected some of the weaknesses of the original kt88 IMHO. One,was the ultra thin glass. Another one is the cooling wings on the plate structure. On the Kt66,I like the fact that they centered tube guts inside the bottle. I never had spotted orange/ cheery plating as I have on the original Gen/Gec clear bottle kt66s.
I do like the smoked bottle KT66s but maybe they can reproduce that one also. The point is,technology is everywhere and the reissue Gen Kt88 has bested my original for aliveness and at least equaled it in areas such as clarity and balance. The more time they get on them, the better they get.
If the power supply waveform isn't pretty, neither is the sound in most cases.
Mike or Jim, do these new re-issued KT-66 and KT-88 have this property, like the original GEC/MOV attempted?
Thanks!
Steve
The kinkless tetrode is nothing more than a beam tetrode with a beam forming plate. It was called the kinkless tetrode by GEC to get around philips patents on the pentode.

I think that no matter what they decide to call it, it would seem that the Gold Lion line of tubes (current production of course) is always a nice upgrade from any of their other releases.
IMHO with NOS tubes getter scarcer and as the prices for the "real deal" go through the roof, any improvements, whether they're my cup of tea or not, are welcome.
I just placed a pair of the Gold Lions in my Mac C2300 so I am just giving then a chance to burn in, but they don't sound too bad at the moment. I will say that Cryoset is offering these for 69.99 a pair. This is somewhat cheaper than the link you are showing on E-Bay..... Dave
Let me know how they work. I ordered a pair for my C2300 also. I like NSO tubes thus far. Brimars, Tele's, Amperex and Siemens. Be nice if they do carry some of the classic sound quality of the GL.
