And, not ONE is an octal. No tube rectifiers either!
So, the sound MUST be terrible!?
;-)!
It may quiet soon reach 33! 3 including ONE tube rectifier in a stand-alone phono-stage still supplied from my BIGG PSU, avec step-up trannies and 4 CCS's per triode. 50K turnover plus TdP's Bass alignment (a 1.5 db blip @ 25hz and 2nd order below that).
Then I'll be taking out the power amp stages from the old tube rcvr I now use as my main tuner. Two sets of OPT's and PP 6BM8's - and put them in the family room/HT system with a BIG power trannie, two toob recs and a killer LCLC PSU. To drive (FE103's in) small AB's, and run the amps in in pure-A pentode, and a CCS on LTP using the triodes in each toob.
The space in the old TUNA will be used for a fully tubed MPX decoder! Six to eight noval toobs.
That would give 35/37 toobs in the main system! When I listen to radio.
