OK, so it's not wired up and working yet, but here is what it looks like ;-)
Breadboard disassembly in progress, hoping to have sound out of it by Friday.
Thanks to all of you that have helped!!!

Very nice looking ccabinets. Are there metal panels under the wood? Congrats on a fine looking design!
Thanks!
No metal, all Red Oak. I -may- create a small PCB ground plane if noise becomes an issue. Right now (when it was breadborded) I have too much hum, which I beleive is filament based, but I didn't want to focus too much on it until the actual chassis was running (lots of
slop wiring on the breadboard).
Very, very nice! I'm looking forward to the final schematic and an update about the sound.
What are you using for OT's?
Should have some sonic impressions in a few days, and I'll repost schematics at that time (as well as a link to my web site which will have them as well).
The traffo's are the much maligned "Handwoundtransformers.com" that I got on eBay. Initial impressions indicate they are reasonable and well beyond the under $100 for the pair I paid. At the same time, a future experiment will involve getting some plate chokes from Mikey and doing a parafeed setup with some spare Dynaco MkIII iron I have.
Who knows, maybe someday I'll get cobalt/silvers (for more than it cost to build the entire amplifier ;-) )
Nice work on the bases - there should be plenty of room inside for tweaking, etc.BTW, do not forget to post the finished schematic.
Enjoy,
Yep - wanted to have plenty of space for "options" (parafeed, interstage xformers, choke loading) let alone didn't want to have to dress up all the motor run caps, open frame filament transformers and the like. I'll be adding some "octal size" 100ma milliammeters on the amp front along with both bias and hum balance pots. I may also add a 2kv meter to the PS if I can find a good looker. I'll be mounting some feet of some form (maybe spikes) as well to assist in internal ventilation so I can avoid the hassles of a fan(s) if at all possible.
Pretty accurate schems are already posted from previous threads, but I will post them again with final pix (internal/external) in a few days.
Looks sharp. Have any PICs of the chassis work?
Happy Listening,
Bill
Thanks!
I'll take chassis pix over the weekend and post them when they are finished.
