Just for curiosities sake, I reworked my original RH84 amplifier, to accept 6CM6 tubes.
I had a bunch of $5 NOS RCA and Sylvania black plates at home, so I may as well put them to good use?
Instead of rewiring the original sockets, I just replaced them with Japanese-made CCC sockets.
A few minor resistor changes (20 minutes with a soldering iron), and I was good-to-go!
Considering how inexpensive NOS 6CM6 tubes are (you do have to hunt around for them though), it's NOT a bad way to go.

Follow Ups:
very nice KK. Does it sound the same as the el84 tubes. I imagine that the tube brands are not as varied as el84s. I checked the tube data and it seems very similar to the el84.
Sorry, took my two pups out for a short hike this morning.
I think that EL84 tubes have more focused/defined bass response, and a little sharper attack that can be....on occasion....a little too sharp?
6CM6 tubes are more....er....well....'tubey' sounding?
But not in a bad way, just a more relaxed presentation that's all.
I have:
4 pairs of Sylvania black plates.
3 pairs of RCA black plates.
1 pair of GE black plates,
I also have seen Sylvania grey plates, and most of those Sylvania black plates that I have are rebranded Philco.
