Anyone try these in a power supply? Results? The 100uF 1000 V is $73.
The package seems novel but serviceable.

Along the same lines but 6 times cheaper (!) are these:
Advance Medium Power Film Capacitor 66uF 800VDC 100Arms rated, which I book marked for future reference.
I'm actually exceptionally pleased with Mundorf Tubecaps which I have employed in several builds, and also of consideration are the more recently available ClarityCap TC which are available in even larger capacity and voltage ratings within essentially the same volume packages.
These caps have fantastic specs! The 100 ufD has an ESR of 0.004 ohms at 120 Hz. I'd love to use these, but they are quite expensive when compared to motor run caps.
a good choice, if you can afford them.
Similar ClarityCap TC at 110uf/800V is cheaper at $51.76, slightly larger at 60x100mm, ESR of .0017ohms at 10kHz, Imax=37A. This one uses thin segmented metalized polyprop film.

Thanks for the info! These caps look great.
Who is the U.S distributor?
Parts ConneXion in Canada retails them for North America. Alternatively, I can usually take an order factory-direct at OEM pricing if the need is greater than 10 pieces per line item.

Hi, mikeyb. What is the ESR on the motor runs you use at equivalent frequency? More importantly how does it sound and sound in comparison.
Unfortunately, I can't find a spec for ESR on the motor run caps that I use. Nor can I give an answer regarding sound quality. I have one amp that uses computer grade electollytics in the power supply, and the other uses motor runs. But the amps are so different (PP KT88s versus PP 300Bs) I cannot make any meaningful conclusiions.
Dry poly w/no mention of being metalized.
They resemble the "Unlytic".
