Given that political posts, (such as the two below), have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with audio, (either audio equipment or music), rather than merely stating "This message has been moved to a more appropriate venue" (i.e. to the "Outside" forum), and then putting all the subsequent posts in said "Outside" Forum, could you instead put the original post there as well, so that there is absolutely no trace of it in the "General" forum as all?
I think that would be the best thing to do myself.
(And if I had my way, you'd give the offending person a warning for the first offense for doing this, a week suspension for the second offense, a month suspension for the third offense, and a permanent ban for the fourth offense.)
I think everyone on this entire site is really pretty tired of the whole political crap that some people decide to initiate on all but the Outside forums. (And personally, I NEVER visit the outside forum for just that reason.)
My two cents worth anyway!
Oh, and BTW, Thanks Rod for doing such a good job running this site. And once I get back on my feet finacially, I'll be making a donation to your new server fund.
Follow Ups:
I agree with that Raiderman. It would save me as well as the other poster embarrassment also because I had responded to it by mistake not realizing what forum it was.
...I suggest when you see a post with obvious political connotations in the subject heading you just don’t read it.
Or
Use the Alert Moderator link of the offending post.
Have fun :o)
I suggest when you see a post that you don't understand the point of, that you just not contribute.
Have a nice day!
:-)
The post initially gets the "more appropriate venue" treatment, but I think it's ultimately removed from the original forum.
It might also go to Water Cooler, but that forum is kind of similar......
It ends up being a painless ordeal. Except for the poster who chose to wear his politics on his sleeve.
