How long did you have to wait to receive your speakers? I bought a pair last weekend and the dealers told me it would take a week, maybe two, for the speakers to arrive. I called him this morning to see if it looked like they would show up for this weekend and he replies, "Doesn't look like this weekend but it shouldn't be more than another week or two." I'm kind of getting the feeling he hasn't a clue, they will just arrive when they arrive. I mind waiting. I think if you pay your money, you should go home with your purchase. Normally, I would not buy a product I had to wait a long period of time for. I was so blown away by the speaker I figured I could wait a week or two [max] to get them. I've heard horror stories about people waiting up to 3 months for delivery. I don't have any interest in being one of those people. I just get the idea the dealer has no better clue than I when they will show up. How long did you wait?
"Honey, that's the same amp we have always had, I swear!!"
Follow Ups:
I was told it would be about 2 weeks from the dealer. 2 weeks came and went no speakers. I ended up calling Richard Kohlruss the importer, but that wasn't much help either. I'm still not sure exactly what the culprit was except I did develop a theory. In the case of the Celius the factory couldn't keep up and V-Max is a one man show & I don't think he can keep up either. He gave me ship dates which also came and went. I think this is somewhat typical unless you get demo's like someone else suggested or get very lucky. Don't be too quick to blame the dealer. I blamed the dealer in my situation and in retrospect I think it was more the distributor telling the dealer unreliable information. This may be the same situation you are experiencing. Good luck.
Alot of this depends on what the factories output schedule is like, and what orders are ahead of your dealer in the pipeline. If this speaker does have a strong demand, it may take awile, they don't grow on trees you know. There is another possibility, not that this is the case here, just a possibility. If your dealer owes them money on account recievable, he can't place an order until he is current. He may intend to pay them say next week, but until he does he can't order product. Since many dealers do struggle financially this is a possibility. I would just ask him to give the factory, or the factory rep a jingle and see what the status of an order is.
I bought the demo pair, so I got them immediately. Maybe the dealer would sell you his demo pair at a discount.
It took about a week from Audio Odyssey in New York. I live in California so I thought the time was quite reasonable. I purchased the Titus 202s about 14 months ago
I got mine in 3 days, however that was over a year ago.It sounds like the dealer doesn't know.
Have a great day,
