....they do sound better when pulled out into the room. I know the name is corn WALL, and that's what it implies. But trust me on this. The way you have them set up now, they sound like a good pair of speakers. Pull them out at least three feet and they will sound like music.Oz
Don't worry about avoiding temptation. As you grow older, it will avoid you.

Will give it a try. Thanks.
I had a pr and loved them. It was in an unfinished basement as a third system. With a modded dynaco st70 and bottlehead preamp and phono section with a thorens td160.
Pulled out about 3 feet toed in slightly toward the center chair I would listen in.
I spent many hours with that system. It was that good. Imaging, clarity, bass impact all amazing. I could and should have kept that system. Pd $600
for them
I also recommend an area rug or two.....
I do have a rug about 3-4 feet in front of the speakers. Table, couch just beyond that.
Will experiment with room placement. Have them pulled out now a couple of feet from the back wall. That's about as far as I'm willing to go. One of the things that my wife approves of with these speakers(and the Cornwalls I had previously) was even though they are big, they could be pushed away out of the room. And frankly, I've never noticed much difference with placement with the CW's, which is why I like them. Yes a little more bass is produced up against the wall/corner but not so much that it distracts from the overall presentation.
But a little experimenting is easy enough.
Yep, sometimes you just don't know when you already have a good thing. Then move on to other things. Then take years to regain what you already had.
