WOW!
Was poking around ebay, and stumbled upon this.
No affiliation, but... dang!
I'll include the ebay link too, for those curious.

Wow is right. I remember these .. they sounded great back in 1980 or prior. I would go to tech hifi and listen to them off of a big ole kenwood receiver that would dim on the bass notes. I ended up getting infinity quantum 5s. I think the ohms were a little pricey for a high school kid.
Imagine those 9 in the pic in some surround setup. Might be kind of crazy.
If these are the model A, at one time they were my favorite speaker
because they usually get fried. i am not so sure the voice coils were robust enough for the job.

They were incredibly inefficient. Clipping might have been the culprit. The F's did sound good on a very big amp.
Dave
they sounded exquisite, especially on high percussion. i don't think the voice coil was up to high power. those that could afford them could also afford the big amps.

I heard it driven by a Dynaco Stereo 416 with the optional C-100 Capacitor bank (adds 100.000 uF). It was up to the task.
Dave
the reason i would be wary is the sheer number of ohm As and Fs i saw as single speaker demos because of voice coil failure.

Ohm I God

i CHANTED WHEN I OWNED THEM
Owned them and enjoyed them for several years in early 80's. Great in their time since I played a lot of organ music and lived in a loft in Bklyn...But the adhesive holding the drive ruptured and they were to heavy to take to the factory, in Bklyn just a cab ride away. Require a lot of power which in those days was expensive.
