Anybody hear of these, they got some great write ups.
Similar in design to a Devore orangutan...?
High efficiency too!
On sale at $2500
Wish the dealer was closer, would love to hear them, I like the styling too!

I got a response from the dealer who is near Boston, and he said that there is a 3 week trial period - if you don't like them you can send them back.
I am tempted to pull the trigger - I really like the retro styling too.

This is an interesteing model for the price. It may be time for a little audio excitement.
Thw 3 week trial means you're out of return shipping cost, if they aren't satisfactory.
Hmmm....
I like specs, and if the performance is there, I can forgive the somewhat garish racing stripe.
The black/white options are a little boring, but if they sound like a 5k+ speaker, I'm in.
A beautiful veneer IMO, would look nicer, but probably would bump the the cost?
I don't know, I have a pair of nicely constructed Opera Seconda's that have a fabulous veneer/leather like a Sonus Faber, and they retailed just a bit north of the Heco, and I purchased them new for 2K years ago.
I'm seriously considering demoing these.
Hi Mike. You may have already heard of them, but Trenner & Friedl is another brand you might want to check out. They have several models based on the same design concept, varying in driver & cabinet size. Pricier than the Heco though.
I have heard of them, but they are crazy expensive (for me anyway)
I know they have gotten great reviews too...
I may wait for the Klipsch Forte 3
Mike
I would not be surprised at all if the Heco would turn out better than the DeVore's.
Not least because Heco are making their own drivers while DeVore use off the shelf products others have made and since they started in 1949 there is a wealth of knowledge and experience within the company.
I remember buying drivers from them when I was in my DIY days. OTOH, I am not familiar with these models.
Found this out after digging around after I read some of the reviews for this speaker.
I lusted for the Devore orangutan for awile, and have been looking in the used market because they are so expensive (I know that's relative) when purchasing new - anyway these Heco Direkt speakers have some great reviews and was hoping to get some first hand information from anyone regarding how they sound - they may be a "poor man's orangutan" - I really like the styling too!!
I haven't heard them myself but they did get a good review in Martin Collom's and Paul Messenger's subscription only (no ads) magazine Audio Critic last year.
