So did you determine your opinion of value after hearing the units, or just based upon visting web site with review of components?
Do you have suggestions of better units consisting of 2 MTM speakers and a 10" sub with remote control capability for less than $1400?
BTW I have heard these units and one would be hard pressed to build MTM's with level of components and enclosure for $325.
Based on what other companies offer if you look at them closely they aren't bad but they do have plenty of competition . Lets look at the $500 dollar a pair satellite wow all the way down to 100hz the build quality look good not jaw dropping beautiful . Now the 2.1 system states $3500 retail for (1) 10 inch sub which again looks ok but not nicer than the competition I dig the cheap plastic remote and xover unit very snazzy(2) 4 inch satellites again nice but nothing too ground breaking . I guess it is up for each consumer to decide but I can NOT see anywhere close the imaginary list price of $3500 it's a marketing game as far as I see it . I don't have the list prices in front of me but I am curious what Energy would list for the www.energy-speakers.com/products/price-up-1000/?sku=V-SW10 and a pair of www.energy-speakers.com/bookshelf-speakers/?sku=V-MINI-BS build quailty is similar maybe a bit better , my guess is the list prices would be higher than RSL deal price but nowhere near $3500 and a street price might even the same as the RSL deal or even a bit lower and yes I think we are comparing an apple to an apple .
Um, you must be new, because if you think 3500 for a two sat system with subwoofer is even close to approaching over priced, you got a shock coming.
I don't have a significant care about RSL, but its ironic you pick one of the most inexpensive systems to use as example of overpriced marketing.
You might want to look at the small marks from say Thiel or Harbeth or ProAc or Sonus faber to use as better examples of price vs precieved performance value.
... whose value is way overestimated.
...and it's getting very old.
