.....this place is turning into an Audioholics type ghost town......

I wonder if the stinky economy has anything to do with it. People's budgets for gear are probably restricted quite a bit.
I post when I can, but I've been too busy with school and listening (when I have a chance) to bother. I'm around some days, but I just don't have time right now, that's all...
"If the audio industry built gear that sounded as good as it did 50 years ago, there would NEVER be a need to re-issued anything!"
Except for Outside and Water Cooler. I suspect with all the **** flinging in those two forums alone traffic for AA could be up.
There are a number of reasons why the rest seems to be dying. Other audio forums on the net are becoming increasingly popular, so there are fewer new people here. The age of participants here has something to do with it, I think, as many older members never start a thread, and only reply occasionally to questions. The vast majority of visitors here are only lurking as observers. The forum design also plays a big part in participation, with threads that die out when they scroll down the page, regardless of whether or not there are new replies. The email notification model, too, plays a big part, when you can only be subscribed to your own posts.
I'd just like to second the comment about the forum design. I find it much harder to follow a thread here than other forums. Once there are over 50 posts or so in a given thread it becomes increasingly difficult to determine who said what, when, and in response to whom.
Frustrating, because it does seem there are a lot of very knowledgable people here...
for vinyl
"Man is the only animal that blushes - or needs to" Mark Twain
and Tube DIY is doing fine.
As is the Tube Asylum.
SET is getting thin though.
It's also spring so many are going outside
and enjoying the great outdoors.
This time of year is notoriously slow.

But it has lost much of its technical edge.
Garth, Ken Lyon, et al, you are missed.
Vinyl has been in decline for years. Death took a few of the serious posters and the wankers drove off most of the rest.
riding season not listening season. Thats what my biker brothers tell me. Still today I picked up my new bass horn. Now I need to sucker 4 friends to help me lift it in my home.....
....it IS riding season and I have been doing as much of it as I can. Only problem is, it's May and spring still has yet to arrive in Virginia.

Appears you settled after many different experiences.
Always appreciated that insight and sharing of experiences.
.....yes it's true. I apologize to those who lived vicariously through my speaker episodes...
You still have Jonbee to keep you entertained.
