Read your posts on the AX-2 so you may be able to help a CDN audiofool....my room is small 11*13, low ceiling (7') and I listen low, my ears are at 35" from the ground. Also, would a cheap Antique Sound Lab integrated work well? I have a Linar 10 for my main system but would love to go back to a second tube rigfor fun.
Tks
Follow Ups:
ASL should be good - the AQ 1003DT is great. The MG 15 has a single ended switch though so it might be a good match up.The AX Two supposedly is supposed to be on the same stands as the K - but I think soundhounds uses higher ones from Skylan at 24 inches and that's the way I have heard them. I would ask tworeddogs on the kits forum -- he owns the AX Two and just got back from Visiting Peter in England -- I met Vern(tworeddogs) at soundhounds.
As an owner he probably has better advice with the intricacies of set-up and stand height. I ran the OTO and Meishu 10 and 8 watts respectively on the AX Two and the speakers have no problems. ASL has the power and I understand that Jolida and Almaro work well...and of course if you can swing an Audio Note amp :-) would probably be best of all.
Thanks, I am really hoping to power this up, sit back and say: "where did my money go all these years"....been enjoying my AP Yaras as an HT kit with Linar 10 a lot but been looking for an affordable subtle delicate 2-ch tube system for those long Winter nights.
Provided your room is not gigantic you should have a nice experience. I would consider them in a home theater application if I ever decide to go that route. Three of these for one B&W 705 -- no freaking brainer. And I doubt a sub would be too necessary. IOnly disadvantage is the receiver but nothing is perfect. Maybe Peter can make an all SET A/V receiver. Hmmm.
room is 11*13 so I think this will be almost "ideal". Tks.
