Depending on how I sit on the couch (how much I slouch), my ear hight with respect to the floor is 37-39.5 inches). Do I need 24" or 28" stands?
I have rulled out the Sound Anchors because of the wait and their slightly too industrial look. Would the Atlantis or target be a good alternative? Are their other alternatives? Thanks,
Jay

I use Skylan Stands under my Harbeth Monitor 30's. These are fantastic non resonant stands and when loaded with sand provide a great platform for any monitor, highly recommended. Noel, the owner is a pleasure to deal with too.
They are 24" stands and each weigh approx. 60lbs. loaded with sand.
Hi Vinyl Addict,You have great taste in speakers! :) Just curious, are you using the 2 post or 4 post Skylan stands?
I replied to your email, but just noticed your question here. 28 inches is the right height. It's very important that you don't see the tops of the speakers if you want the correct frequency response from the P3's. You don't have to spend a lot of money on stands for these speakers. Alan Shaw says the "only" function of a stand is to get the tweeter up to the right (ear level) height. For I've used Target metal stands with 2 posts that I filled with kitty litter, but wooden stands would be fine too.
I own the Compact 7s and use Skylan stands. They can be ordered to your specs and are a great value. The columns are extruded plastic so they ship light and can be mass loaded. Also, they don't rust. Six moons has a review on them, if you are interested.
hi, i had the p3 on 28" sound anchors and i did not like the bass response at that height. i went to sound organization z 570 24" stands and they sounded perfect. i have since sold my p3 but do have the stands still. they are in as new condition. the retail on them was 276 and i would sell them to you at half that price if you are interested. you can email me at musiclife122000@yahoo.com thanx and happy listening!! gsb
