I bought a TT clamp off of A'gon from a respected company.Paid on Dec. 20th via PayPal.They shipped on Dec. 29th.informed me that shipping would take 4-6 weeks. They neglected to inform me that the item had been sent via International surface mail.I contacted them after the item is still AWOL after more than 2 months, asking for a refund.Their reply-how do we know that you have not received the item.My feedback, both on ebay and audiogon is in the hundreds and spotless.
They threatened, when I suggested that I would post on AA that they would get me suspended.
How should I handle this?

That is the problem with international First Class (surface) mail.
I learned my lesson on Ebay. An overseas seller did a Paypal chargeback, claiming non-receipt. Paypal immediately removed the money from my account.
Thankfully, it was a small item, not a lot of money was involved. I sent a replacement, and Paypal released the funds. Still, it was a hassle.
I still wonder if he received the first one.
Now, I ship overseas only via Express Mail, which is trackable. It is expensive. It may cost me some international business, but it eliminates this problem.
I believe that in most countries there is what is called registered mail, where the recipient signs when the item is received. In my country this option adds on a bit more than i$ to the cost of expedition.
You are right that I can not prove receipt or the lack thereof, but my combined A'gon and Ebay feedback should be able to dispel doubts.
In the case of this clamp, the Seller neglected to inform me that the item was sent via International surface, shipped out 9 days after receiving payment, and a few more things that had me on edge to begin with.
If it took longer than it should have to get to you thats very normal , no big deal . If you don't get it at all thats different . I wouldn't even start calling till it's a few weeks over due .
As of this writing, having paid Dec. 20th,and having been promised 4-6 weeks delivery,it is more than a month overdue.
For not having some kind of signature/ delivery confirmation system in place. Simply bad business.
Talk about a tacky response from them - threatening a customer??!!
On a very small dollar ammount transaction, it may be more expensive than it's worth, but Anything I send get confirmed.
Glad they're reimbursing you, they certainly should.
Reputation is everything, especially in these times.
Whatever happened to "The customer is Always right?"
Good that I did not name them.Just received an email that they do intend to reimburse me.Another storm in a teacup, but their initial approach was riling.
nt
I didn't even think of that, that didn't even suggest it!It makes more sense.I will certainly suggest it to them, after they have agreed to reimburse me,I told them-let's wait for another 2 weeks to see if the first clamp arrives. It pissed me off that they:
1)Refused to take any responsibility for non receipt of the clampand
2)Suggested that I may be cheating them after having already received the clamp.
I should add that after the 6 week mark I sent them emails every few days saying that the clamp had not yet arrived. They had neglected to inform me that the clamp had been sent via international surface mail, just said that it would arrive within 4-6 weeks.
All is well that ends well.
