I have some parts to build an EL84-powered SE power amp and am looking
for a schematic. Want to have a triode/pentode mode option. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good schematic? Thanks!Steve
can't make it any easier than this: Steve has schematics and even detailed assembly instructions (I mean REALLY detailed with photos!!!!!) at the Decware site. He will also sell you output transformers if you ask nice.....www.decware.com
Here are a few.You could try asking Steve Deckert at Decware if he sells the schematic/plans for his Zen amp. I think that at one time is used an EL84 single ended.

I bought an old SE 7189 amp mainly for the transformers in the interest of building a new SE amp.
Can I blindly use the power/output transformers and build a EL84 design? Assuming of course they use the same rectifier/preamp tubes?
And if I do this, can I use the 7189 tubes or would I need to get some el84s?
Some how I doubt life could be so simple and I realize this wont be a true SET but I am poor and this seems like a good place to start.
Thanks for any help
Dave
I don't see why not as the 7189 is a substitute for the EL84. Go for it and have fun.Tom §.
