Just finish Estimated and I continued to be amazed by Betty's, on the fly, two track mixes. I done live two track mixes and it can be very challenging. I was always in the same room and used headphone, while Betty, at times had a separate room in the venue. But, regardless, IMO, this is her best effort and simply wonderful. Honestly, this mix blows away the Hampton 89 multitrack mix, which was a big sonic disappointment. I only point this out because it was mixed from multi track analog and pales to what Betty did live to two track. She is an incredibly gifted artist.
Follow Ups:
I received my vinyl copy yesterday and just starting listening to it. I went straight to "Dancin", which I really like. Late last night I did a quick comparison with the cd for this track and, although the vinyl sounds very good, I have to say, the cd sounded more like "master" tape.
Anyway, I hold out judgement until I have repeated listens.
At this moment, the boys are deep into the groovy Dancin jam and I'm liking it.
