I quite like that SS album this came from (Time). It is the most recent SS album I bought (of the 18 I have). I totally overlooked it because there have been some "newer" ones (since the 80s lol) I didn't much like.
mostly because Gay Woods returned to join them for the making of it. When Maddy & Gay do duets my hair stands on end....what a sound.
She was on Hark! The Village Wait (1970).
Then all these years later:
- Time (1996)
- Horkstow Grange (1998)
- The Journey (live) (1999)
- Bedlam Born (2000)
Counting the multi disc sets I have 30 discs and an uncounted vinyl collection, I also like Gay and Her hubby, Terry's work.

Terry from Wiki:
The Pogues, Steeleye Span, Sweeney's Men, The Bucks and, briefly, Dr. Strangely Strange. Prior to being a founder member of Steeleye Span he performed in a duo with his then wife, Gay. Woods has toured with The Pogues on their reunion concerts.
Yes, Gay is good, but I'm much more concerned with whether Maddy is there or not with SS.
Unlike most people it seems, I think Hark! is by far the best of their first 3 albums, that is before they started to get really hot.
Of those later 4 albums you mentioned, Time is the only one I have, I think their only album from the 90s I have. It is already getting a bit mellow for me. The even newer stuff from this century is too mellow for me. They grew up and I didn't lol. I still like the stuff I liked 20 or 40 years ago just as much now as then, for the most part. Maybe I have weird taste (been listening to lots of early Echo and the Bunnymen and Hot Tuna lately...).
