Yes, not really different in effect, but you can work on all the hives at one startup. Also if you have, as I do, multiple partitions with different stages of cMP stripping on the same ssd then you can work on the registries of each at one time.
I agree that being able to clean and optimize from this platform would be ideal. I have been thinking of calling the maker PC Disk Tools to see what they may know is possible along those lines.
