Denafrips has been making FPGA firmware updates available for some of their DACs. I just received this email from them this morning regarding the original Terminator DAC:
Follow Ups:
Never easy as they don't actually change the model/ser. # plate when the upgrade.
Mine is a Terminator but not the original.
Believe it to be the second version (one of the first shipped) when they did their own USB > I2S conversion rather than the original Terminator which used the AMANERO solution.
Recall a delay in shipping my unit as they had discontinued the original and hadn't quite completed the new units at the time I ordered.
Sadly, with all firmware updates, ya gotta use a WINDOZ computer. :-(
Same with the Audio-GD line, and with that one you also have to buy a 'dongle'.

Not he says you can update using an Apple computer?
That's a new thing. Just might try!

I didn't see that but I wasn't looking. Encouraging. Let me know what you find out. Otherwise, I can help as I am able to run Windoze on my Macs.
Must be new.
But then if he is going so far as to put out a YouTube video to ENCOURAGE folks to upgrade firmware on a $4500 DAC, then he has to assume some of those folks will be using macOS with Windows so far in their past they have no way to access it.
