my lms server is a Mac mini 2011 with 10.10.5 yosemite os...lms is 8.0 and the qobuz plug in is not shown... anyone know if LMS 8.3 will work with that os version and install the plug in ?
Follow Ups:
have a couple things to try...
update lms to 8.3 on my 2011 Mac mini to see if that loads plugins
build up an rpi server to see if I want to retire the mini..
some items ordered to do that...
all I need now is some free time...
thanks again for the ideas
Where are you looking for the Qobuz Plugin? -- First - Are you using PiCorePlayer? --
If so, you need to go to the Plugin Page and you will see a Qobuz Pluggin... After you check this, and re-start it will have a Setting on the Qobuz Pluggin Line, when you click on it, it will take you to a page where you can login to your Qobuz account.
hi.. not using picoreplayer... this is a mac mini using LMS... thanks
I believe that PiCorePlayer was the only Software for LMS that had a Qobuz Pluggin. -- I could be wrong....Where did you download the LMS software from ????

As far as I know, the Qobuz plug-in is a standard item on all recent versions of LMS. I run the standard Linux LMS download on a Raspberry Pi 4B with the Raspbian OS and it works great for my Qobuz account.
I believe that PiCorePlayer was the only Software for LMS that had a Qobuz Pluggin.
Works the same way with the ultraRendu and MacMini versions of Squeezelite.
nt
Nor does Apple or Penguin software. The nice thing about LMS is that it supports a wide range of Squeezelite clients the same way. :)
The plugins are server based.
PcP developers wrote the Qobuz Pluggin?
since all your assumptions are wrong? I'm happy to answer them. :)The current version of LMS was downloaded from Soundforge.com. The original one on the old Win7 box from slimdevices . And feeds a wide range of music and video players:
pCP
Sonore
iPeng
Mac Squeezelite
RokuSince the TV based Rokus use the DNLA plugin, they can only access my local library - which is not an issue as I use them for video content only.
edit: Actually, I find that one can optionally run LMS locally from the ultraRendu - just never found the need to that.

I use PiCorePlayer LMS for All whether Roon, UltraRendu or PiCorePlayer Squeezelite.... Only one iteration of LMS.

lms 8.0 from the server page... again not using picoreplayer omn my Mac..
if qobuz is only on picoreplayer I may have to build a new rpi server and not use my Mac...
thats why I was asking if I upgrade to 8.3 if the plugin will show on my Mac mini
If you downloaded LMS from mysqeezebox.com at Logitech, you will not get Qobuz.Qobuz Pluggin was developed by PiCorePlayer....
So, yes, Get a Raspberry Pi --- You can get a Model 3B fairly inexpensively at E-bay that will do the Server Job and a Player if you wish.
What are you currently using as a Player?
I use Rpies for Server and Player... I keep PCs away from my Music (Too Much Going on)

Qobuz plugin is a standard part of LMS install - plugins run on the server side. Have LMS running on a Windows 10 and Linux machines. Qobuz plugin is not limited to PiCorePlayer
first, thanks for your quick replies...
thats the rub... I am using a 2011 Mac mini as a server... actually its a Core Power Mac mini...very $$ at the time...have (2) rpi clients using usb with my dacs...
I have another rpi that I can configure and switch to using as a server..
I really would like to try Qobuz
thanks again
As an aside....I don't think your 2011 is a "Power" Mac Mini as that would imply it used the very old IBM Power PC G4 32-bit processor. Apple abandoned Power PC for Intel processors in the Mac Mini line around 2006.
A 2011 Mac Mini would have an Intel processor and around that time Apple made the transition from the taller Mac Mini case with plastic top to the all aluminum 'unibody' design. Since 2011 was the transition year Mac Minis could have the older or the newer case style.
I used a Mac Mini way back then as a LMS server but Qobuz didn't exist at that time.

perhaps I did not use the right wording... not the "power" you refer to...not the cpu...
my 2011 Mac Mini was modified by Core Audio Technologies... removal of the internal ps and has an external linear power supply and internal shielding... optimal music server
Ah, I get it now. I modified my 2012 Mac Mini by removing the internal switching power supply and inserting a filter bank in its place - then powering it from a 12-V outboard linear power supply. I don't recall if I used Core Audio Technologies or another brand of filter board.
White filter board replaced the black Mac Mini switching PS
Ran the Mac Mini from the 12-V 10-Amp linear power supply
Also played around with running it off a 12-V battery
My 2012 Mac Mini tear down. Upgraded the RAM, SSD, and PS
I now run a stock Mac Mini M1, NAS, and a couple Raspberry Pi.
yup... there you go... we went down the same rabbit hole
It was a fun rabbit hole and I learned how power efficient even the very old Mac Minis were. I figured about 10 watts playing music. I left mine ON 24/7.
Assume you have tried reinstalling the v8.0 pkg? Pretty sure LMS v8.3 runs under Rosetta on the new M-based Macs - so it is still compiled for Intel processors. Why not download v8.3 and see if Qobuz shows up and works? I don't see anything in the changelogs that look problematic - take a peek
http://htmlpreview.github.io/?https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver/blob/public/8.3/Changelog8.html
Or you can use the same RPI as a Server and a Player... Which is what I do when I travel......
At Home, I have a Dedicated Rpi for a Server (Model 4 very fast) --- And about 10 Rpi players scattered around the House.
If you need help getting PiCorePlayer LMS running, let me know... It can be a bit Putzy to set up, as it has a lot of features....I helped dozens of inmates here.
I'm also using version 8.0 and use the Qobuz plug.
Scroll down to the 3rd Party section or do a CTL-F search.
thanks... the issue is the mac mini and 10.10.5 yosemite os.. qobuz does not show in the plug ins... so I am looking for how to add it...lms is 8.0... if I upgrade to lms 8.3 does the qobuz plug in load ?
plus will lms 8.3 work with yosemite os ?
it's not part of the lengthy list of Third Party plug ins near the bottom of three screen fulls worth of stuff?
yes, not there... somethings is not quite right as the path for plugins under users/library etc is not there... the uninstall of lms and reinstall of 8.3 hopefully fixes the issue.. thanks
