Thinking about replacing the microRendu with PRO-JECT Stream Box S2 Ultra. Any advice and comment appreciated. Thank you.

OK if what it offers suits you. There is no support for Qobuz or any streaming services other than Tidal and Spotify. Nor does it support DSD files should you have locally stored ones. So IMO a bit limited for use in 2021 but if you don't object to lossy formats for streaming and are OK with PCM then Pro-Ject's reputation makes it worth considering. Made by Canor in Slovakia for Pro-Ject. Canor make some good things under their own brand identity too.

Yes Ivan, I think I may have been looking at the S2 rather than the S2 Ultra.

Their advertising is very fluffy, lots of words w/o saying much. The least they can do is add some technical content in the form of a white paper with audiophile problems that they've solved. Even if these problems don't really exist, create them in the minds of audiophiles then solve them! That's what the other manufacturers do ;-)Unless there's a specific feature that the Stream Box S2 has, I wouldn't count on it "sounding" any better than what he already has. Probably a sideways move in sonics.
