I received my Allo Digione board this week for Raspberry Pi. Some new 'Re-clocker' technology for this Digital Out board. Also had to get a new case for my Pi to accommodate the new Board. Very Nice!I used the latest 'Audiophile' release from PiCorePlayer - (because we are Audiophile - aren't we Ivan?) which has support for this new board from Allo.
How does it sound? ..... A big upgrade over the HiFi Berry Digi+ Pro - A far better upgrade IMO than any power supply upgrade I have tried. In terms of Clarity, definition. Very noticeable. A keeper for sure. Great deal for $99 and $14 for a new Case.
From their website:

We started designing a digital (S/PDIF) transport for RPI with one goal in mind: Absolut best S/PDIF output. Now let me explain... behind the grandiose wording there is an exact science. Since this is a digital stream the most important aspect for "absolut best" is jitter. Jitter in digital domain directly translates into analog errors. Second, is noise. Lowering the noise that's injected in your DAC will produce some (small-to-none) improvements.
Then we went to work.
10 LDOs, 12 LPF, DC/DC convertors, galvanic isolator, WM8805, flip flops, buffers, NDK oscillators.
Optical had to go... by definition it has a jitter of 4ns. That's 4000ps. We simply removed it. However, optical has galvanic isolation so we took the decision to use a digital isolator instead that separates the outputs from both RPI and WM8805.
DigiOne has 2 outputs: BNC and plain RCA (coaxial). On both, we have achieved jitter of 0.6ps (1 picosecond - time taken by light in a vacuum to travel approximately 0.30 mm).
Noise. 50uV (batteries have about 12uV of noise).
What we achieved, in our opinion and based on public measurements, is the best transport at any price point (yes, even when compared with 5k USD/EUR transports).

Support wifi? Could be a deal maker
Yes, I sent an e-mail to Allo. -- No problem with WiFi
Cut-Throat
I would guess so. I have mine running wired.
Cut-Throat
The DigiOne shouldn't know or care. I have the Pi with Digi+ Pro S/PDIF Board and it shouldn't care either.
The latest Pi does WiFi and a Pi should also do WiFi with a 'dongle' but I have never figured out how to connect mine via WiFi using the PiCorePlayer interface.
But I'm sure you can.
Advanced--> WiFi Settings
Where do I find my WiFi SSID?
I have the IP address thanks to IP Scanner on my phone.
IP Scanner also gives me the MAC Address.
SSID is likely buried in there somewhere but the last time I logged into my router it took an 'IT Professional' half an evening to fix all of the things I'd messed up!
Do you use an iPhone and is it on Wifi when you are at home ?If so, go to the Settings Icon > Wifi. It will display the SSID that you are presently connected to, which is more than likely to be your home Wifi.
The SSID is essentially a name that identifies a wireless network. It can be a random name set up by your ISP or a familiar name that you choose. My Dad's Wifi SSID is USMC as he is a retired Marine. Of course, you will need to know your SSID and the password to log devices onto your Wifi network.... assuming a password was assigned when your Wifi was first set up.
Otherwise, there are easy ways to 'see' nearby Wifi networks on your Mac in System Preferences > Network > Wifi. You might 'see' an SSID that you recognize.

So the SSID is just the freaking WiFi channel's NAME.
WTF didn't they just say so instead of:
"SSID is a case sensitive, 32 alphanumeric character unique identifier attached to the header of packets sent over a wireless local-area network (WLAN)."
??
You pretty much nailed it! It's just the name of the wireless network.... but it's not specific to just a channel. Your Wifi router may choose a random channel or you can pick the channel you want but whatever channel it is on, the SSID (Name) remains the same.
I have a number of them as I have two WiFi routers in the house and each has a different default name for 2.4GhZ and 5GhZ with 5G after brand name of the router plus a couple numbers.
Ex: 'AppleWiFi 24G', AppleWiFi 5G 'NETGEAR13-24G' and 'NETGEAR13-5G'
Doesn't matter as I have assigned each the same password.
Some people name their SSIDs .....
"Free Wifi",
"FBI Secured-Do Not Connect"
"Virus Prone - Do not Connect"
"Porn Watch Will Report Connections"
"LGBT Internet"
Cut-Throat
They can call their WiFi network 'F$%kYouBob' . :-)
"What She SSID"
Cut-Throat
That is a configuration setting with my Cisco WAP300s.Most router/access points are accessible via a browser by entering the IP address. Try that.
If not, let a smartphone tell you what's broadcasting in your area. Perhaps you might recognize it. If not, turn your unit off, try again and note what disappeared. :)

Good to see you're making progress.
Next you try a well powered Boss.
Then you might be able to get rid of your Teac and SPDIF altogether.
Slowly but surely you'll be getting there. ;)
BTW. On the image I can see a pretty basic network cable. If so, you need to do something about it. (we've been discussing it here and elsewhere several times - I described my own setup -cable/power/router- on my blog)
Enjoy.
Of course if you get a Boss DAC, you would not need a DIGIONE at all..... And the Kali Re-Clocker won't work with the Boss either. So which is it ? Do you get a Kali and a Piano? Does the Boss sound better than a Mamboberry with a Kali Re-clocker ......And so it goes........They don't seem to have a defined path for their products that I can see. So, I chose the Digione, as it let me keep my existing setup........I elected to keep my Teac DAC as it Runs my TV and sounds very good, as I have compared it very favorably to other Mega-Dollar DACs.....So, currently I have a very workable system that I am enjoying.
BTW - If you have a link to a Non "pretty basic network cable." ... I'd appreciate it. And no .... I am not interested in making one.

If you have that Teac it's OK to keep it. No question.
Your image didn't suggest that you have TV asf connected. If you need more then one input these PI HAT solution do have their limits.I had that Teac in for testing a while ago. Therefore I kind of know what I'm talking about.
You can run the Boss in slave mode btw. This way you can also use the Kali. Just to correct you on that one.
BUT. The difference is IMO not worth to use the Kali. The Boss works better with a separate PS. That would be my priority.And. Your solution is Digione+Teac using SPDIF. These kind of setups come with issues by definition. Obviously that's also valid for most USB DAC setups.
However. I do buy that your system sounds not bad at all. What I'm saying is that instead of buying a 100$ Digione and a TEAC, a Boss would have done at 60$+50$ for PS (that $50 PS invest might also be needed for the Digione). And that without comprising the soundexpierence very much if at all.
Enjoy.

Well, I was reading on their website that you cannot use the Kali.
From Allo Website.
********************************************************************
Compatibility: RPI only. Isolator board (at 192Khz). Relay attenuator.
PSU: Power is taken from RPI and then heavily filtered for each rail. Also, possibility to feed external PSU 5V/100mA please check manual
Not Working With: Sparky, Kali
HAT Size Not HAT Compliant
For RPi
BOSS is a Master DAC (Master DACs are compatible only with RPI)
Compatible with RPI2 and RPI3

SC knows best, the web site and the manufacturer are wrong.
NOT!!
Dynobots Audio - Music is the Bridge Between Heaven and Earth
CT, pay no attention to SC, he thinks his dollar store setup is the end-all be-all of audio.
Surely a company like Teac which has been in the audio business and pro audio business for over 63 years and a market cap of $14.6 Billion knows how to make a Dac.
The day you find a Allo product connected to a RPi in a professional recording studio is the day you might think about it as a serious Dac.
Dynobots Audio - Music is the Bridge Between Heaven and Earth
Look.
I had his Teac (and a lot more) at home for testing. It stayed exactly two days.
When it comes to Pro-Gear. I actually sold my RME Fireface UCX beginning of this year after having it for several years.
What should be different with these devices. The USB interfaces are as poor as any other, the power supplies are pretty basic, asf. My own ES9023 based HAT (Yep. I'm not just a software guy!) plays in a different league in comparison to that 1200$ device.
Let me know if you have any more nonsense arguments in the pocket!
Enjoy.
Okay one person with questionable hearing means what?
Out of the 7 billion people on Earth I could pull a few out of my pocket that prefer Bose.

I like the acrylic on acrylic look but the main thing is that it sounds great and doesn't break the bank.
Now $100 in the Pi world only gets you the audio board. :)
Much cheaper than a urendu for $700... which is just another board.Complete System in the Pi World -- $135

I spent only $26 on the base Digi+.
I've got an Allo on order, too. Why not for that cheap? Since it is a standard HAT board, I plan to use same case and remove the covering layers to the left side where the BNC connector lives.
Thank you.................!
Again. :)
I would like to hear your opinion of the Allo Digione Rpi vs, the uRendu.
Cut-Throat
now who could those be (???), I do plan a comparison between the two.
While I don't use either the LPS-1 or ethernet in the garage setting, I'll level the playing field by using both with the RPi. I'll do extended listening evaluations since I'm not going to be constantly changing the power supply voltage back and forth and will be using the same BNC input on the DAC8 this time.
I suspect the gap is closing.
But at the same time, in would be a reasonable comparison to make, what with the LPS-1 having a 5V output as well as 7.5V.
I have a $1.50 BNC jack to solder to my Digi+ Pro and can enlarge to hole in my Pi case to accommodate it but...
Would like to know if the DigiOne is a step up and a step closer to the uRendu.
I do know, having heard my Pi with the LPS-1 at another audiophile (dare we use that term?) system and can say that it takes the Pi up a step compared to the Jameco $12.50 LPS, even with a Canare cable.
I want a complete Plug & Play unit... LOL...

Notice they offer with DietP or Volumio but I understand you're running the DigiOne on the latest version of piCorePlayer?
Yore welcome..........................!
Yes, the latest release of PiCorePlayer has now included support for the Allo Digione Board. Worked seamlessly.
Cut-Throat
Thank you very much... :)
Volumio player sounds wonderful. Can I use my Android/Samsung Galaxy Tab A to select the music files?
Probably... I don't use Volumino, but I use LMS with Squeeze Ctrl on my Samsung Phone to completely control my Raspberry Pies.Cut-Throat
Edits: 07/30/17
Squeeze Ctrl looks like a great app... :)
without the 'skills' necessary to 'flash' the latest PiCorePlayer as it's been a month or two since I last did that, and who remembers?
Most important, do they have a return policy?
I sure hope so!
OTOH, my DAC has a BNC input so maybe BNC to BNC connection from the Pi to my DAC insures a true 75 Ohms impedance?
If the improvement is as dramatic as you claim (and 'audiophiles' have been known to make dramatic claims) you might be in 'microRendu' territory by now and ready for that LPS-1 Ultracap Supply to finish it off.
Your Welcome.................!!
Your You're is your Bette Noir, from the days of Yore.
Whatever that is!
Yours, your friend oldmkvi, who thinks you're a great guy, if that really IS my name...
OK, your turn.
You're next.
Sorry, that's all I've got.
It's all you're's.
