It is a phone and media consumption device. It is not a handheld computer replacement. It is also an ecosystem unto itself, and is designed to make it difficult to do what YOU want it to do (as opposed to what Apple will allow you to do). It is designed to not be compatible with non apple devices or non allowed operation. Android/MS/Pixel phones are essentially hand held utility boxes that can easily do what YOU want. Downside is operation may be more diy than Apple products.
I use an iphone and ipad. i do not use Mac computers.
Follow Ups:
This was my first foray into the apple world. I have been used to an Android O/S, which basically is a palm top computer. I have since returned the iPhone and will be getting an upgraded Android in a few days.
