Hello.
I travel a lot for work, so I burn cd`s to my mac book pro, then transfer to my Iphone. On the road, I listen to Iphone with Dragon fly red, HIFIMAN headphones.
Getting tired of the "upgrading " with mac book, plus the sound, even using AIFF to burn cd`s is average.
What would you suggest to get to do the same : burning cd`s and maybe streaming HI-Res tunes, then syncing with my Iphone?
Or should I just get a portable player and use the Iphone as a phone, with no music?
Budget is about 800 dollars.
Thank you for your input.

my old IPod Classic playing uncompressed AIFF burned CDs into Sennheiser Over the Ear Momentum phones sounds great for travel. My cell phones and other IPoD Nano do not sound as good. Problem is I can't get my current Mac OS to see the Classic so I can update it. This seems to be a common issue. The Nano still is supported.
I have portable Fiio hi rez player. Its good, but off course they are huge files so and SD card fills up quickly
I use apple lossless on my mac and sync my iphone to that.I play it in the car but thats about it.
As to apple lossless though. I have my mac running through the stereo via a little dot dac. Sometimes I wonder if it sounds any better than my ipod playing mp3's
