Hello! This is a nasty situation. This new cmp was meant to be used AFTER all settings were made. It should only be put instead of the old file. Can You access the cmp hdd from another computer? Maybe this way You can manually edit the ini file, though I don't know where this start xp-start cmp info is stored. Can You overwrite NOW the new file with the OLD one? Maybe this will help?

Hi Serge,
I´ll have to see what can be done regarding changing the cMP files.
The cMP .ini file does only display stange symbols, where as the .pth file is displaying
"EXPLORER_KILL "c:\windows\system32\taskkill.exe" /F /IM explorer.exe"
-which is probably the one to replace.
As for now, it seems that the new cMP.exe doesn´t allow the "START XP / cMP change function.
kind regards Leif

You can also try to load your
WINDOWS\system32\config\SYSTEM
registry file from another (working) windows install, and look for this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
It should point to your explorer exe if you want to start XP, and to cicsMemoryPlayer.exe ("1.exe") if you want to start CMP. If you need help, please ask.
I assume that you ran into problems, as most (?) of us happy CMPers :) are using super-slimmed installs by now (correct me if i'm wrong), with no remaining explorer.exe etc... so this issue w/ black screen did not occur.
