Is there a way in iTunes for it to show you what missing audio files you have compared to the library database? I went to play a cut in the library but I had no associated audio file. I'm wondering if I have many more like that and my library is so large it would take days to click on each cut to make sure there's audio associated with it and it plays OK.
Any help would be appreciated.

When these files are 'missing' is the a little symbol in the column left of the song title? If so the link to the files is broken. Highlight that file and Get Info. On the Summary tab it should show you where this file is located and more than likely it is in another location from your main iTunes library.
I can't replicate this so I cannot because I don't have any missing files but I believe an option to 'Locate' the file is given and once you traced the path it will add to the iTunes library proper path. It should also, ask it you wish to locate other 'lost' files and it will seek others in that path. I believe you need 'Keep iTunes Library Organized' checked in preferences. Some users do not like to do this because they have their own organizational methods other than the default iTunes organization method.
In the end if all else fails but you found the missing file location just drag them onto your desktop onto the iTunes icon and they will be added back in the proper location.
There is no little symbol until I click to play the file and then discover there is no audio file associated with it. I've been careful to keep three back-up copies (two at home and one at work) and all three show slightly different sizes and the number of files. The problem I have is with the Seagate HD's I use I think. I just can't copy my whole iTunes folder from drive to drive without it freezing up after a half dozen hours or so (my library is a little over 20,000 uncompressed .WAV files). I think I found a way to do this by just trying to bring over a couple hundred gig at a time instead of the whole folder. What I found last time is it froze up after copying 'The Faces' folder so I started with the next artist folder. However I discovered while it had 'The Faces' folder in the music folder it only had five of the six faces albums inside the folder but all six listed in the database, hence no audio for one of them (but also no symbol showing that until I clicked to play a cut from the missing album). It take some time this way but I think it'll work on making sure everything gets copied and backed up from HD to HD. Yes, I've turned off all 'savers', etc so the only thing I can figure is it's a Seagate thing with the 2-TB HD's or the Seagate software manager.
Try using file synchronization software. This is designed to deal with problems in file transfer by locating and incrementally correcting differences. Most of the operating based copy utilities are "all or nothing" and don't make it easy to recover from partial failures without starting over. I have a Windows system and use syncbackpro. This will compare two directories or directory trees using file names, file size, file modification time and (optionally) file contents. It is designed to be used in background mode (e.g. overnight) or in manual mode. If you are using a MAC, perhaps someone else can suggest appropriate software.
If you are getting disk freezes I suggest copying all the files on the drive post haste. You might also try running the Seagate diagnostic software or otherwise perform a disk surface scan. Once a disk drive starts giving errors its days are usually numbered.
