I pulled out an old cd by Michael Ruff today ("Speaking in Melodies"). Mastered by the late, very great Doug Sax. The music is not really my cup but I wish more recordings "sounded" this good.
Follow Ups:
I didn't acquire Michael Ruff's Speaking In Melodies , until late 1994, when it was already was couple years old. Yup, as soon as we heard it, we wished that all studio recordings were of this high quality. Personally, I prefer Ruff's more uptempo numbers, such as "I Will Find You There." But others like his slower material.
Ruff has a song, "Cry On My Shoulder," from Bonnie Raitt's 1989 album, Nick Of Time .
Jimmy Johnson (bass) , Michael Landau (guitar), Ralph Humphrey (drums). Not a bad group. Landau's solos are incredible. Oh yeah Cheryl Crow singing backup.
rw, you forgot to include Jimmy Johnson's nickname "Flim" of Flim and The BBs.
I did. Thanks. :). Another cd I need to bring out of retirement ...."Tricycle"
