anyone remember seeing Taj live? For example in a small bar in Marblehead, Mass?
There were at least 20 of us there. I sat at the bar with him before his set.
There must be something wrong with me for not having something wrong.
Follow Ups:
A great favorite through all these years since I bought his first album when it debuted.
When she was three or four, no 11, I introduced my granddaughter to his Fishing Song. We still sing it in the car from time to time.

i had great down front seats thanks to my daughter Megan who is a master at seat selection (among many other things).
its funny, the overall sound grossly changed from her set to his. i forgot to listen for the overall sound when they played as a duet near the end of the programs.
he's playing in LA with Mavis Staples soon.

Red Rocks 1986. Fantastic show x3. Lightning show during SRV, just like album cover. Taj was solo. Really dug him, although at the tie didn't know his story. Bought a couple albums of his the same weekend.
Saw him a couple of times in the Seattle area...at least once billed as Taj Mahal and once as BonTaj Roulade, which was Bonnie Raitt and Taj Mahal, at the Chateau Ste Michelle winery.
The BonTaj Roulade show was a bit of a disaster...the weather was miserable...raining steadily throughout, and there were many problems with the sound and stage setup, which delayed the show quite considerably.
The venue being a winery led to the audience getting drunker and drunker while waiting for the show to begin, and then after the opening act, for the headliners to take the stage...the sound system continued to have problems, which detracted from the performances...unfortunately, combined with the lousy weather, the delay, and the drunkenness, this led to the crowd getting a little ugly, ending on a bit of a sour note.
LOL the only reason I would ever visit Seattle is to scuba dive because it never rains underwater!

Saw him a little more than five years ago at a blues festival. Much more than twenty of us there.
Saw him do a VERY extensive performance at a large and FREE outdoor venue as part of the Ottawa Bluesfest, maybe 2010.
Was surprised to see him there playing at a free venue in the middle of town.
Played EVERYTHING and for HOURS.
wow, great work on the photos!

When I saw him with The International Rhythm Band there were about half that many
musicians on stage. Round 1977/78 at The Old Waldorf.
Fantastic night of music from one of my favorite musicians.
A treasured performance by him:
