I have the Bruckner set. It is late 70's vintage analogue remastered in 24 bit digital. The sound is pretty good, good enough that the sound does not detract from the enjoyment of the performances. It is well balanced and clear, but the resonance of the recording venue conceals the details of inner voices somewhat. The orchestra is ok but not the greatest, especially the brass.

You wouldn't happen to know if the Sony box set sounds better or worse than the previous RCA box set, would you?
I am guessing these are the same performances. I have his earlier Beethoven set and it sounds great. So hope Sony didn't mess up what was good.
I'm just leery of Sony *remastered* disc. Last year I bought their Glenn Gould reissue vinyl and it was one of the worst sounding vinyl I bought.
I expect you're better off with the 1990's digital recordings on RCA with Wand conducting the Berlin Phil.
Do you prefer the performance or sound?
