I got it because it's small, and easy to hand to anyone and get good results.
After trying a variety of cable / interconenct combos, I also found the Cardas Golden Ref to be the best sounding stuff within a reasonable (hah!) price range. I've heard great things about the Nordost Valhalla line, but I haven't had a chance to hear them in my set-up. Transparent and ElectraGlide just didhn't do what what the Cardas stuff did.The Golden Ref cables and interconnects went a long way towards making he whole works disappear. I opted for the biwire version of the speaker cables, BTW.
Very nice! Are those 33Hs in the background?
You can read about Gary's system on the MUG Shots listing. You can get to his system directly by following the link below.
Which do you prefer? Getting AKG1000 has forced me to reevaluate my main speaker(which are not too shabby!), and I have to wonder if I can ever better the K1000 from about 40Hz up with "regular" speakers. Then again, I don't have MG20.1, Levinson 32/33 to help the odds, either.
I rarely listen to headphones anymore. I once thought the sound of my Stax headphones would never be topped, but there are just not enough binaural recordings around to give you the same "there" feeling as a good loudspeaker setup. It's hard to beat headphones for the money though.
Do you power the rest of the neighborhood with those Levinson Monoblocks? :-)Sah-weeet!!!

I should get myself some free space somewhere so I can post some pictures.
Looks like the sound might be on the bright side with the paneling...is the entire room paneled? Other than the RPGs, any side/ceiling treatments to minimize reflection? Nice gear, man.

or smaller Maggies !!!Have you gotten the itch to buy another set of 33's to biamp yet?
Very pretty all it needs is a few candlabra and a crucifix or the religious icon of your choice. Nice church you got there.
How much of a difference did they make?
RPG products can make a real difference, but they're very expensive. I bought mine used or bought copies of the real thing. My reart wall (behind the loudspeakers) is flimsy or hollow- note the closed door on the right, and there's a large closet space behind a door toward the center; so, not only did the RPG stuff diffuse the sound, and abfuse (absorb & diffuse) the sound with the grey center panel, but it's heavy solid particle board construction helped to solidify the wall.
ASC Tube Traps are in all corners, and another RPG Abfuser rests against the right wall at ear height just in front of the right loudspeaker.
If those maggies are in the way I'd be happy to store them for you!
