Message on my phone machine.... they are 'Not shipping'.
I wonder why. It's been about five months since they were announced.
I know there's a backlog of people who had LRS on order and were given the option to upgrade but that shouldn't take half a year to clear should it?

Follow Ups:
They hope to be shipping 'this fall' but they have no idea, really.

Interesting. I ordered 3.7i's in late September 2021 and they shipped in early December 2021.
could be people, could be parts, could be broken machinery, who knows.
Whatever it is, Magnepan needs to get it fixed before they start losing
business.
Life is hard. It's harder when you're stupid.
Magnepan is different. They have never wanted to expand to meet high production demand due to the knowledge needed to do many of the jobs there. Then the pandemic showed up and slowed things down, whether that be fewer employees because some retired or left or the state closed the facility I don't know, along with possible supply chain problems all leading to the need to wait 12 weeks for products.
I got no idea how long it takes dealers to receive product. I don't know how long it takes for customers to receive direct orders like the LRS. But looking at the factory it seems to do one thing at a time, do it very well and then move on.
Maybe they came out with too many updated/new products over a short period of time causing a building backlog of product. It seems many folks understand this issue (if they are not losing all those orders) and realize that once they receive their speakers they will be able to enjoy them for decades or sell for close to what they paid.
Heck there is a discussion on a package shipment that was sent Royal Post to the US (I think) on July 7, reached US customs in NJ...today, Sept 23. Not like the supply chain is working as it should these days and the postals systems aren't really a major part of that. The world is screwed up for lots of reasons right now.
Hope Magnepan comes through all this in a stronger position.
At my day job our biggest problem is work force. We need machinists, fabricators... the ones we have are essentially on OT for 11 months now.
We try to say no to some jobs, they ask again.
We say can't do that job for October, OK November
We constantly juggle, put out fires.
Heck, the local Tim Hortons often only has drive thru service, because they can't find people either.

IE: OT means, Over Time. It also usually includes time and half regarding your pay $$$
I was under the (false?) impression that in internet forums "OT" meant 'off topic'.
Concerning people working, OT wouldn't likely mean off topic tho. :)
Pretty much all work 4 10 hour days, Monday to Thursday, which = 40, then Friday 10 usually also. There when I get in, still working when I'm done.
When I visited the factory about a week ago, they had 17 people in production. I only saw a few but I think they just had a break (9 am). They had 33 once. It is not a large business. Production seems to have changed a bit since others were there. The repair is done differently now to what I have seen in articles. The cheaper models are made in larger batches, like 700 pairs. 30.7 in batches of 3-5.
It's hard when all you can do for half a year is 'take orders' but not get any actual money paid to you.
I wonder what's going on up there in Minnesota?
