having a first-order HP means that you can use a simple line-level passive HP for the M/T, just a small-value capacitor in series with the power amp input. The value is chosen based on the amp input impedance. I use this plus an old Marchand XM9 for the fourth-order LP. Marchand sells the XM9 circuit boards alone so you could do a home-brew, like I did, for not a large expense. My setup works well; I think it's a worthwhile thing to do.
