Saw that on a dealers webpage.
From $1400 to $1800?
Yikes.

Follow Ups:
For me, refurbished, real Apogees (Scintilla, Diva, Duetta, FR) are always a better speaker but now they're even more the better bargain.
Never thought I'd say that!
With that glaring $5k gap in the lineup between the 1.7i and the 3.7i, it seems to me bringing back the two series would be a nice fit. A 2.8r is something that could sit at around the $5K price point. Something about the physical size and weight of a .7 with a true ribbon. I'm thinking a 3.7i for the downsizing, aging Boomer. ;)

They're not that big!
for years. It would seem to make complete sense from a Maggie enthusiast point of view, but apparently it doesn't from the company's marketing standpoint. Too bad.

The current lineup is very impressive from top to bottom, so maybe there would only be a few of us interested in a product with the additional cost of the ribbon without the bass extension of a 3.7 sized panel. I'm sure they have their reasons and based on the lead time for orders, what they offer now is selling very well.

And I'm a Duetta owner!
Refurbished Apogee's hit the stratosphere in cost, I recently got a quote to replace my bass panels which would run > $5K; toss in another few grand for shipping. Complete restoration will reach 20.7i level. Any model above the duetta's and we're talking drive em' up there, get a room for a few days or weeks type money. Fortunately for me my panels only buzz when certain frequencies resonate -which is extremely rare due to my listening of only acoustic jazz or classical music. That's not to say they're not worth restoring, if I had the money I'd opt that route instead of spending the same amount of money on a new pair of today's "boutique" speakers out there.
Restoring a Diva, Scintilla, Full Range or Apogee Grand would be the holy grail as far as I'm concerned.
But at the end of the day Magnepans (IMHO) STILL remain the greatest value in all of audio.

Yep, got my order in just in time.
LRS. $750 per pair
.7 $1,795 per pair
1.7i $2,795 per pair
3.7i $7,995 per pair
20.7 $17,995 per pair
30.7 $37,995 per pair
I wonder if used Magnepans will increase in price?
Hold on to your older Magnepans, and repair them yourself if possible.!
Magnepan will not rebuild older models currently.
The 1.7i now costs more than the Eminent Technology LFT-8b! Compare the two, and see why some prefer the ET to even the 3.7i.
wow; I remember when the 3 series were in the $3K zone.
I paid $1995 for my pair of IIIa's in 1987.
Still use them in my home theater and they are in perfect shape.
Wow. Was wondering about the 20.7. Glad I got mine several years back.
The killer is - on all electronic equipment. These prices are never coming back even if supply chain is fixed etc.
Prices didn't increase, the value of the USD shrank.
Not to this extreme .Way above inflation 0f the last few years.
Have competing speaker brands risen as much?
