by the way ... I had a very small cheap version of these and the results were startling

Over 3 years old now. If they were so wonderful it seems there would have been more of a buzz about them.
"The only cats worth anything are the cats who take chances. Sometimes I play things I never heard myself." Thelonious Monk
not necessarily true
I remember for years Maggies were considered to be "soft" and lack ANY dynamics at all - thats not true
CDs were considered to be better than records - false again
folks hyped little mini monitors tested in Canadian sound rooms as if they were K-horns
watch - in a few years someone will come out with a pretty version of this speaker with better actuators - it will be hyped and cost ten thousand dollars
Even though the parts cost may be low, once you quadruple the materials cost plus profit once a commercial company produced them, they would no longer be cheap compared to the mass-produced, tidy "drivers in a box" speakers from the likes of Klipsch, Elac, etc.
In addition, these would take up a whole lot more 2-D space than the usual suspects.
Very interesting video. I ended upp watching the whole thing. Thanks for sharing!
