I bought a pair of Tympani IVa's earlier this year that had recently been rebuilt at the factory. I've made a few additional modifications (terminal, fuses, crossover caps) documented on this webpage.

after all that hard work - to put them in Mye stands, from Grant! :-))

I'd love to hear a pair of "T's". The house I lived in before I grow'd up and moved out had a 20' x 25' basement. I would have LOVED to have a pair of Tympanies in there.
Wow terrific looking, I'll bet they sound magnificent!

Impressed and impressive. Two thumbs up! 👍👍
Impressed and impressive!! Two thumbs up. 👍👍
I especially liked your tenacity in tracking down and repairing the mid-range driver output with extra bracing. That was truly a "Stump the Stars" repair effort.
They look beautiful too. Congratulations!
And I'm sure sounds amazing. My semi-realist dream speakers...
In the picture you show of your original T-IVA what amps (ARC?) which are shown driving them and are those Magic-Bricks sitting on top of them?
Incredible job show the restructuring-rebuilding of your new T-IVa, and I wish you many pleasurable hours enjoying them.
Great work Mike! Your work shows the attention to detail expressed only by a master craftsman.
i am glad you found a worthy set of Tympani IVa and did not have to spend $1200 US to ship them
from Saskatchewan.
Great job.How exciting! Thanks for putting in the inflation figures; it keeps things in proportion and grounds us in audio reality in the present. General price increases in the industry off the chart.

WOW! What an Odyssey! I read your article and was very impressed. Wonderful job!!!
Incredible journey! thanks for sharing : )
I can only imagine the sound
Impressive work!
Myself, I would have gone for an active crossover in place of the passive external crossover. It opens up a few more options like eq/adaptation to the room and it also raises the efficiency a bit of the bass section.
