Maybe sweep the garbage pile away, dust them off...? Sad.
Follow Ups:
But that can be exactly how you want to buy your speakers. A lot of people might dismiss them due to the dust, but they may be in perfectly operating condition and only need a little cleanup. Since many people are turned off by their appearance, the owner might consider selling them for less due to little interest.
which despite being initially not pretty will get the heart racing nonetheless.Seller has no idea of the condition but knows it's something special.
Also the seller wants folks to know the original condition meaning if it doesn't' work there's no surprises, versus getting it 'all dolled up' and the buyer gets stuck with a lemon (often known as the 'estate sale' followed by 'not tested') .

Agree, wonder about the condition... nice old Corvette...
I think it's honest to show how they looked like, warts and all, BEFORE makeup was put on.
No doubt, was more in humor than anything. I have a hunch there may be issues with the speakers.
that dust has settled on the membranes. But probably a good deal if you knew how to clean them up.
Sad like you say though. Especially if they were just sitting there during what appears to have been some sort of clean up or renovation.
Cheers!

Not.
Looking at a lot of listings for vintage receivers and amps lately and I'm always amazed how very few people wipe down the equipment they're selling. I see more cheese and onions or whatever else is stuck to it before they take pics and wonder how difficult would it have been to wipe it down.

I can't believe how many people use their gear as a drink coaster. In some cases they use their gear as a TV dinner tray. I've seen gear with gunk dripped or splashed onto the front of the component.
Smoke and Pet Free environment.
Certainly, including a mess in a picture is going to hurt the chance of selling anything.
