I rotated the LRS back in a few days ago. This time tweets in. The set up still needs just a slight tow in (much less than tweets out). The mid/bass panel is just tied to the tweeters for distance to listening position.Initial impression - I find positioning easier to achieve great imaging and soundstage with the tweets in, but the this may sacrifice a more immersive soundstage when you find the best position tweets out.
More listening needed.

The tweets are staying out. Like Shuni said I get a bigger soundstange and still have a rock solid image. The positioning is more critical.

In my room with the 3.6s 8 feet from front wall and 4.5 feet from sides in a dedicated 19'x 35'x9.5 it is not even close. Tweeters out for me are more holographic, wider stage, while still achieving sharp center image and smooth frequency response. Tried tweeter in but output was dull, too narrow, lower HF for me regardless of toe in.
I think in a large room it's not so much tweeters in/out, it's woofers in/out. If you place the tweeters where they need to be for imaging, you can then put the woofers on the inside or outside to optimize bass response.
I've measured bass response in my room (smaller 27x13x8) and getting the woofers closer to the wall while leaving the tweeters where they need to be definitely changes the resonance modes.

MarcL, not in my case...my 3.6s are crossed over at 250Hz. I have dual triple 12" GR OBservo subs for bass.
Never mind :-)

I find in's the way to go since I kind of do not find "giant" soundstage to be a priority. I mean, I'm in a 12x16 or so room.
I listen to a lot of mono recordings too. I like I get "immersed" in the replica between the speakers. I only set up a 6 foot equilateral triangle tho.
/ optimally proportioned triangles are our friends
Have you heard of the "Rooze" setup? Point the speakers 45 degrees at reflective side walls and the image will be bigger than the room. :-)

IMO the fact that you're in a 'smallish' sized listening room should encourage you to produce the illusion of a larger soundstage, ("giant" in quotes, did anyone write that?). Very often I choose to listen using a Carver C-9 hologram generator to expand, widen and deepen the soundstage (the effect is dependent upon any given recording (it has no effect on mono recordings, and very little to those having a small stereo spread to begin with).
I have had Maggies for 40 years and I have come to the conclusion that the answer to the question of tweets in or out and the meaning of life is "yes".
I married the perfect woman - the downside is that everything that goes wrong is my fault.
I thought the meaning of life was 42. If that's the case you'll still need a couple of more years with Maggie to have that answer.
