Is the consensus, if there is such a thing, that putting foil paper in oil cap is the best for the Magnepan tweeter such as Jensen or Mundorf? And teflon cap--V-cap, TRT Dynamicap for the midrange?
Follow Ups:
I would try ASC x386s oil-filled metalized polyprop for midrange. While they were designed for industrial uses, I am using them now on my revised crossovers (with vishay-roederstein bypass) and I have heard of people using them with success for even signal caps. They tend to measure much closer to spec than their rating would suggest. Smooth but transparent sound without the "nasal" harsheness of some of the other caps I've used- should mate well with the more expensive PIO (Jensen?) caps on the tweeter. However, they are not small caps- you should plan on an external crossover. And they are cheap, so you can try them and won't be out a ton of money if you don't like them- I got mine at Allied
