How does one remove the wooden "trim strip" from the side of the 1.6QR ? How are these trim strips attached ?I've read a number of threads that talk about modifying these speakers. But at this point in the instructions, they usually say, simply, "remove trim strips" -- with no further details.
Follow Ups:
You need to use a small flat-headed screw driver. Insert it into the top(or bottom) between the speaker and the trim and tap it with a hammer until the end of the strip comes loose. Then work your way down the strip loosening it as you go along with the screwdriver. Be careful not to tear the fabric. You'll want to keep track of where all the trim pieces go so you can reuse the same holes when you reinstall them.

Thanks. Kknowing about the "brads", I think I can remove the trim strips. I have the advantage that, since it's the cloth cover I'm replacing, I needn't be too concerned if I damage the material. The wood trim was my main concern.I have the new cover from Magnepan -- the old one has a small tear on the back.
