With the blessings of Parasound and Sound Lab, I'm delighted to announce we will plan to hold the (first annual?) Bob Crump Memorial Pizza (and Beer) Party at CES.
In the spirit of maintaining the tradition of fine camaraderie and all around good clean fun, the festivities will commence at the close of the show on Friday, January 6th, 2006 and continue until ?
The usual fine array of brewed malt beverages will be on hand as well as a wide range of tasty pizza to suit everyone's taste. Non-alcoholic beverages will be available, too.
Some may care to wear bib overalls and Birkenstock sandals (with socks) to honor Bob's refined taste in apparel. Best costume wins!
These parties have grown in size and notoriety, with many audio luminaries and distinguished music lovers present. Everyone is welcome!

We did the first party together during the 1997 CES, we just walked over to the store on the corner and bought some carefully chosen six pacs, a few times, played some tunes and left the door open. As the night went on, people just showed up, no invites, no need to say anything.
In any case, it will be nice to carry on the tradition for Bob. I wish I had been able to attend more of these since.
My favorite of his sayings from back in the day; "I'd be willing to buy her a small car".

    It can happen after a few too many, I get smarter-:).
    I remember little from that conversation. It was the first time I met Steve. I know Marty DeWulf got involved for a bit, but he and a few others were mainly listening to tunes, we were doing all the talking. I remember you were taking notes on a pocket spriral pad, dunno of what, and I was arguing what I felt were the 'virtues' of the number '3' while Steve went with 2. Past a circular shape and zero, with something about the human race working toward a goal of making computers and machines in their image ultimately going full circle back to the beginning, I'm a blank...
    Guess we must have said something that caught your attention for you to remember.

      ...that, while I have been present at many a dorm room bull session, that one was the most brilliant and entertaining -- especially given the nature of the question: Resolved, the number 2 is better than the number 3.

        Sounds like Steve had much practice arguing with his wise Dad...
        Years later, I'd still stick with 3. You should ask Steve what number he would choose today, 2 or 3. He most likely will have no clue what the hell you're talking about-:).
