And for the first time, some side effects other than a sore arm. Weird dreams last night and a headache this morning. No, I wasn't into the bourbon yesterday.
Got the annual flu shot at the same time though, which might have something to do with it.

Follow Ups:
Have the next few days off so really am not the least bit concerned about any side effects.
Side effects can't and or won't be any worse than what the jabs will help prevent.
This has been our experience thus far. 25+ years of flu jabs and what?, one hundred years of COVID jabs?

But went home and finished cleaning the basement (2 hours after 3 hours in four
previous sessions), which I hadn't intended to do today, or even tomorrow.
But now it's done.
Apart from that, no ill effects for either of us, not even sore arms (yet?).
Easy peasy in all regards!

Ever give blood or had to 'leave a samplle'? I've got difficult veins to 'stab'.
When I got married, the doc said.....'I was a corpsman in 'Nam and can get blood out of a corpse'.
Good? Bad? At least he got it out in ONE stab while leaving me with a bruise the size of a ping-pong ball.
Not so good was the person who tried to get blood and took 3x tries in the LEFT and 2x tries in the right before getting lucky. I had NEVER been 'woozy' before while getting a sample taken.
I finally talked to a pro and am now TELLING them how to do their job. A vein in the hand and one of those 'butterfly' needles / tape. One And Done,
No major effects from 3x with Pfizer. Sore arm 1st go, lesser the 2nd and 3rd. No 'bad' effects, either.
Than I had a doc who wanted a stool sample, a urine sampe and a semen sample. I left 'em my underwear.

Me? Not so and it's been a PIA for as long as I can remember.

Our first batch of jabs resulted in feeling tired for 1.5 days with sore shoulder for a few days. This last jab left only a slightly sore shoulder for 1 day and practically no other side effects. Same for my wife. Go figure.It's all on my phone along with other documents. The actual doctor scribbled vaccine card is in a file folder.

Had to get up at 3:00a.m. for 2 Acetaminophen. Arm sore at both injection sites today.

Got the Moderna omicron booster two weeks ago and 'more than just a sore arm' would be my experience as well.
Nothing like a shot they gave us while in the military many long years ago.
Don't know what it was but it knocked out most of the personnel in training with just about everyone too sore to even sit down or stand.
Would love to know what that was.
Folks whining about 'mandatory' immunizations likely never served.
Regards 'shot records', back in the day they told us if you lost yours you would have to get them all again.
Who knows if that was true? Nobody ever lost their shot record!

I joined ROTC at age 17 and submitted the immunization records I got from my pediatrician. While at school, these were stored at the closest base with a medical facility. When I was commissioned, I retrieved them. Then I brought them to the base hospital at my first duty station, who handed me back my shot record but took everything else.
Then, about 3-4 years later, the military decided to (finally) move to electronic medical records. At that point, they called everyone back in to drop off their shot records. When it was my designated time to show up and drop them off, I couldn't find them.
They immediately gave me every required vaccination, right there, on the spot, all at once. Something like 4 in one arm and 5 in the other. It left me feeling a little woozy for a day and my upper arms were sore for a couple days. That's about it.
and then getting inside because it was MF'ing cold. Finally, I get to a desk where ID is checked and the guy puts it all into a laptop and I stand in line another 15 minutes. Then another guy with a laptop. And finally, the shot and off to a restaurant as hunger pangs beckoned.
I still carry my cards, they are beat to hell now.
Was it typhus or typhoid fever? Those could be a bitch many years ago. There's one other that was notably bad, but my memory fails.
The nurse stuck it just under the skin in a pattern. It blistered and if you got any of the blister juice on your finger and touched yourself somewhere else with it, you'd get a scar there, too. I had a circular plastic thingie taped over my vaccine site.
The arm pain is fading, wasn't as bad as with the last booster. I got both shots in one arm, too.

The Clinton administration ordered mandatory Anthrax vaccination for the entire military in the late '90s. I got it in 1999 just as I was leaving active duty. That sucker hurt for days.
Anthrax shot had no effect on me, still listening to them!
I'm holding off on it anyway until there's more info on this, I'm not a mouse

The influenza vaccines get reformulated every year based on what strain(s) are going around, and approved without human trials.Anyway, the story here is that there were human trials of the Omicron BA.1 vaccines. Then the FDA asked Moderna and Pfizer to update them for BA.4 and BA.5 since that's what's going around. The approval was given to get them into people before the expected wave hits in late fall. The safety case was based on the similarity to Omicron BA.1, and the BA.1 vaccine trials didn't find any new or worse side effects compared to the original vaccines.

"The bivalent vaccines, which we will also refer to as "updated boosters," contain two messenger RNA (mRNA) components of SARS-CoV-2 virus, one of the original strain of SARS-CoV-2 and the other one in common between the BA.4 and BA.5 lineages of the omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2."
The bivalent vaccines that already went through human clinical trials were targeted for Omicron BA.1 in addition to the original strain. Those vaccines were approved over the summer and became available in Europe. But they didn't get rolled out here, because by summertime, BA.4 and BA.5 had replaced BA.1 as the dominant strain.
The latest and greatest vaccines that just got approved and are available now are modified versions that target BA.4 and BA.5. They were approved without human testing. The clinical trials are ongoing right now with results expected in November.
FDA had no concerns about the safety of the new vaccines, but without the trial data they were uncertain about the effectiveness. They gave the go ahead anyway so people could get boosted before the expected fall wave hits.

we are both skeptics, especially when it comes to a new technology like mRNA. We talked about this for weeks before the shots. He took the Moderna, I got the Pfizer. I had 2 plus the 1st booster and I still got Delta anyway. My Antibodies and T cells seem to always be on alert because of what happened to me when I was 19.
Pardon my disbeliefs, and so far my natural immunity has persevered.
And NO I don't get Flu shots as my immune system is still pretty good and I've never had 'The Flu', sorry. I take care of my wife when she gets sick with Flu from her school and the drizzly snot kiddies breath on her all day. Last time she was sick 7 years ago she was in bed for a week and I had to check on her every hour, I'm not kidding.

Covid doesn't like most mice, no ACE-2 receptors. It REALLY likes hamsters though. It grows in Macaques as well. Easy to do. As I understand it, the only difference is a slight change in the RNA sequence. I believe Dark was in a trial for it.Jack
