Too bad they gave Communism and Socialism such a bad name. Don't think it what Marx had in mind. Makes the 3 mil or so the US murdered in SE Asia and the 5 mil in Korea... look like child's play.

the number of Native-Americans? New estimates say up to 40 million were here when Europeans first arrived---- and a fraction of that 200 years later.
But this is a new century, so let's start again with the count!
Mao is typically credited for a MINIMUM of 60,000,000 of his countrymen. We can add his foreign adventures of Korea and Vietnam to his score for an additional couple million.
No telling how many Tibetans and the Uyghur......I'll put them on Mao's sheet, too, since the current pirates in charge are direct descendents....
Too much is never enough
I can't find evidence that Mao personally killed anyone. Can you? Certainly not millions of people.

"I can't find evidence that Mao personally killed anyone. Can you? Certainly not millions of people."
He probably didn't, he had people to take care of that. Same with Hitler and Stalin.
Charles Manson only killed one.
But then you can do that when you got people who "Just follow orders".
So you do not work today, do you work at all ? You might be wealthy or retired, who knows ?
You seem to have lightened up on me, why ? Did you find me to be right on a few things or something ?
And remember the thread about minerals and salt and all that they deleted ? I DID have links to everything. I can get them back up but this time to avoid a problem here I will just post them and some quotes, one of these days. I do have the time, but not the inclination right now.
Along with Mao now, I wonder how many others responsible for mass deaths never lifted a finger. (or close)
Get a grip. His policiies and actions were those of a brutal dictator and self absorbed sociopath.
While HE didn't actually 'pull the trigger', a standard which applied to OTHERS, renders most but a few serial killers innocent, he DID order mass exports of Chinese agricultural products which essentially starved the peasant. Forced collections were used to fuel his 'industrial' and military ambitions. He was always trying to get Stalin to help and later Nikita......
Edgar Ssnow was FOOLED by Mao and the Dommies. 'the Yenan Way'? An open air reschooling project where people confessessed to anything and everything.
Great Leap Forward? Destructin of cultural heritage? Madame Mao and the arts?
Too much is never enough
It's everyone else that needs to get a grip and start blaming followers and obeyers and stop following and obeying.

Have a look at the frigged up educational system in this country. they are asking kids which of the ten inclusive in the Bill Of Rights they would like to eliminate. They are asking if boys feel like girls, and too young to really feel either way. Simple indoctrination centers. Find a good one you are lucky, and if you want your kid in it you pay.
People here, with a half billion guns put up with this shit, what do you think the sheeple in other countries will put up with. They got no recourse.
They could try a labor movement but they could be put down. You know that was really what brought down the USSR, not our outcrediting them in military spending, though that helped.
The Soviets had already stolen anything worth a shit, nailed down or not. The only thing left was to exploit the labor. Well labor figured it out and they poisoned the well so to speak. No more working diligent, avoid rejects ? They WANTED rejects. No country or company can survive like that. Seeing this, the Soviets left. There was nothing left to steal basically. they went to Israel mostly. Putin was one of them but had a change of heart. They way you see him is from the perspective of a potential enemy, but he really just wants Russia to do well.
He is one of the most competent leaders in the world, and his people are happy. But he knows what is going on and knows how to handle his intel people, and already knows more than most. The only US President that would rival him was George H W Bush. The both of them were almost on par with Seymour Hersch, probably the most knowledgeable person on international affairs in the world. While nobody is infallible he is about as close as it gets.
rump was a neophyte at it but a quick study. Biden, Putin is going to walk all over him. For one Biden does not realize that we cannot hurt Russian with sanctions n shit because they got more business going on without us than with us. And I KNOW from a very reliable source, much better that the newswire, let alone the news. And they say sanctions were crippling Iran, bullshit. When the US decided not to buy, they started to refuse the petrobuck and started selling oil to China for gold.
If you ever want to see the big picture about the oil game, there is a book called "The Red Line And The Rat Line". It is a bit dated but much of this shit has to do with geography and that hasn't changed, except a little in Japan... And if they hadn't been enriching uranium it would be nowhere near as bad, but it will be alright.
Anyway, maybe this isn't exactly the kind of response sought here, but some might want to know WHY. The Red Line And The Rat Line gives enough that we can practically predict what comes next, but you have to read it first.
"No country or company can survive like that. Seeing this, the Soviets left. There was nothing left to steal basically. they went to Israel mostly."
Who exactly were these "Soviets" that "went to Israel mostly"?
Putin. But he went back to Russia because he had a change of heart. WTF?
aka, Don't expect an answer or a cogent answer Andy. I can tell you that!

"They got no recourse." There is almost always some way to resist. Look what is going on in Burma. Sure hope the good side wins soon.

You would benefit from some reading on 'mass movements' and what I call herdism.
See Link for a wonderful examination of this topic.
Over the years, there were several 'plots' to depose Mao. But he was supported by the Russians and his opponents were defeated, basically one-at-a-time Chou En Lai DIED as a result of Mao denying him the permission to go overseas for proper treatment of his cancer. Other opponents or just who Mao didn't like DIED or were driven essentially nuts in 'reeducation' facilities. I wish I could remember the names....but ONE in particular tried to exit China in an airplane with his family. In the rush, the plane crashed and all were lost.
It is such a vast oversimplification to just say to 'stand against' some evil person.....
Even those in Chinese Leadership who opposed agricultural politcy which essentially starved Millions of peasants could only stand so long. Some of Mao's statements are borderline self-delusional.
Come back when you gain a better understanding of mass movements and the 'mob' rule mentality that goes with it......
Even Hitler had some interesting things to say....Like, 'If we didn't have the Jews, we'd have had to invent them'.....
And it is a fact that many Nazi folowers were Former Communits. See? No principle, just followers.....
Too much is never enough
"If we didn't have the Jews, we'd have had to invent them"
That was not Hitler.
But in all your point is valid, do not blindly follow anyone. ANYONE.
Who DID say that then? I was told Hitler....??
Too much is never enough
