I got Pfizer #2 yesterday afternoon, from Sutter Health here. They cancelled 90,000 appointments the same afternoon.
so far, just a slightly sore arm again. Peace of mind is good, thinking I might not croak from Covid, at least.
Follow Ups:
It was at a Rite-Aid drug store. I was amazed at how well it was run. When Ms. CfL got her first shot weeks ago (from a different outfit, using the Pfizer vaccine), she said that the line was over a hundred people, although it did move fast. When I arrived at the drug store, there was a total of ONE person ahead of me, and when I had finished, there was only ONE person waiting behind me. And we didn't have lines either - they had chairs all nicely set out for us. So I may have been late for the first shot, but at least I got the "luxury treatment" - LOL! The follow-up (second) shot won't be for another four weeks. (Ms. CfL gets her second shot day after tomorrow.)

I had been logging in every morning trying to get an appointment for the last six weeks. The message kept being the same. Due to limited quantities... yesterday, Bingo, they had openings for just about every hour. I will be getting the one shot J&J at a drive through ball park parking lot mass vaccination event tomorrow morning.
I think with the one shot J&J, more people will get vaccinated much quicker. It may be slightly less effective, than the two shot vaccines, but getting greater numbers vaccinated should have a positive effect.
One shot is better than two. I will wait to see IF people have reactions to the shot, before I decide what I am going to do... As my Dr. said when I asked him if I should get the vaccination, "Yes, but there is NO guarantee that it will be effective". EVERYONE has to decide for themselves what is best for them....
Maybe the USA ISN'T as much of a Third World country as it has seemed recently!

If I never post again, do not get the shot. I'm under the impression that it has already not killed a lot of people.
nonsense about cell research or whatever...

as a form of birth control... I had a friend that worked in social services for YEARS and used to complain about the constant parade of the same women that would come in to get abortion after abortion... When offered birth control pills, they rejected taking them as it was "against their religion". Some people are just plain stupid....
Can't require trigger locks, after all. It's the price we pay for freedom.
We let them die in mass shootings and lift not a finger to try and change it. It's the price we pay for freedom.
It's legal in about half the states in the US to kill your kids by denying them medical care in the name of religious freedom. Again, it's that price we pay, etc.
So why is abortion such a big deal? People want to use it as birth control?
That's the price we pay for freedom.
The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?

I'm pretty sure that you realize that none of that is okay. Maybe it made you feel better.
But apparently many Americans are fine with it. Just enough of them to block any attempt to change laws.

That's okay. I'm not Catholic. We sent our kids to Catholic schools and they aren't Catholic either. I participate in the Friday fish fries on occasion.
I think that religion needs to stay out of it.
I agree. Your quarrel is with the bishops!
